Many islands called: ABC Islands, Barbados, Antigua, Bahamas, St. Lucia….

We finally wanted to see the Caribbean again. A great offer about the company “TCHIBO – Variety and Quality”, founded in 1949 in cooperation with the shipping company RoyalCaribbean International and the ship Adventures of the Seas, fulfilled our long-cherished dream: The visit of the ABC ISLANDS…

We visited Barbados, Antigua in the 1990s, the other islands were new territory for us. The islands are only a few kilometres away from the Venezuelan coast.

A real insider tip of the Caribbean is the ABC Islands, formerly belonging to the Dutch Antilles. Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are not only very popular with experienced Caribbean tourists, but also with us.

Tropical warm climate…

The three islands Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao can be visited all year round. Temperatures are 25°C all year round, while the water temperature is a pleasant 26°C. The temperature of the water is very pleasant.

ABC Islands – Holidays in Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao

If you are greeted in the Caribbean with “Goeie dag”, you have probably reached the port of Oranjestad on Aruba. The enchanting capital of the island will delight you with its unique blend of Dutch colonial architecture and Caribbean joie de vivre. Oranjestad is by far the largest city on the island of Aruba with around 35,000 inhabitants. In addition to Dutch, Papiamento, a Creole language developed from the Portuguese language, is spoken here. English and Spanish are also spoken and understood. Aruba belongs to the Netherlands Antilles, whose main islands Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao are often called the ABC islands.

Most of all I loved the snow-white beaches, the green mangroves, the untouched nature and the dazzling underwater world.

After visiting the three ABC islands here is our conclusion:

All three islands have their own special charm. Personally, I liked Bonaire the best: A spectacular diversity of species in air and water, especially the pink flamingos near the saltworks, made me enthusiastic.

From the island capital Kralendijk, many tours can be started comfortably. Shadow fans can be happy: with its approximately 200 grottos and caves, the Dutch island also offers sufficient protection from the Caribbean Sun.
